How can a challenger brand compete with a global giant?

The challenge

We were tasked with designing and launching a new website that would improve search rankings and performance, while outperforming a well-established competitor.

Hytera’s extensive range of radio communication devices often left potential customers overwhelmed. Our challenge was to streamline their decision-making, reduce drop-off, and increase qualified engagement with dealers.

Perceived as a lower-tier brand, Hytera sought to elevate its image. Through refined visual design, photography, and a user experience grounded in quality, we helped shift perceptions to better reflect the calibre of its products and services.

My role

  • Led UX research, benchmarking, and empathy mapping to define design direction.

The solution

The new responsive website presents a fresh, modern look and feel. An intuitive interactive Product Finder helps users identify the right Hytera products for their needs, while a Dealer Finder enables direct, measurable contact with dealers and distributors.

We optimised the user journey from discovery to conversion, eliminating key pain points. In comparison, the competitor’s website appeared noticeably behind the curve.
